The above settings are very important to making the mpeg 100% compliant svcd video stream.

1 - The stream size MUST be 480 x 480 for an ntsc disc.
2 - I use 1:1 aspect ratio, experiment, it's up to you.
3 - set the fps to 23.976 (same as forced film in dvd2avi)
4 - select CQ
5 - Click on settings now for the all important bit rates etc
6 - we are doing ntsc
7 - VERY important, this makes the film play at 29fps even though it's 23fps.
     A  lot of dvd's are done this way.
8 - 10 bits is slower but more "stable" film
9 - use motion estimation to save hours encoding - the choice is yours
